The Very Hungry Caterpillar : take two

First of all, very sorry I haven't written a blog for a while, hopefully this extra loooong one will make up for it.

Right. Look at the title of this post. What does it make you think of?

The caterpillar gets married and has three children?

His nephew comes to visit and they have a big buffet, stuff their faces and spend the rest of the day in the lavatory because of stomach ache?

Well, none of them. In fact, quite a lot less exciting! All that happens is that the caterpillar dies, many years go by, until some distant relative hatches out of his egg and finds himself in a plastic tub. He has brothers and sisters, but one by one they disappear. Finally, it is just him left, and what a fat caterpillar he is!

Here he is now!!
Every day, a strange man feeds him privet. He is a very silly man*, and it takes him a whole month to notice there is a big hedge right next door to him.

*The very silly man is actually my daddy.

Ok. That's the end of the story. THE END

No caterpillar falling off a cliff.
No super hero caterpillar saving the day.

I'm sorry if you were expecting an exciting action story. No, wait a minute. I'm going to show Miss Licchelli I've been listening in English today. The GENRE (new word) you would classify this story as would be Every Day Life. There you go, Miss Licchelli. I have been listening in class.

Goodbye. Miss Licchelli, if you are reading this, please comment and tomorow say 'Well Done'.

The Fudge Fairy and a couple of goats

goats

I am writing this after hearing my sister sing 'Do you wanna build a snowman' in choir. I hate Frozen, and listening to my annoying sister sing it in front of me with a smug look on her face was awful!

Anyway, I have been thinking about setting up a little website where you can order some fudge and by the next weekend the fudge fairy will deliver you a little packet through your door. (This is only Black Tom streets and  it will be order by Friday. I am very sorry but the fudge fairy is so lazy she will only go to other places if she gets an extra payment in jazzies.) That said, me and my mum are working on a plan to arrange for a fudge collection point at the new children's bookshop.

You might be wondering how we spent the money to Save the Children. Well, we went on the website and clicked on Save the Children wishlist. This is where you can send some money to buy a gift for a child (or adult) that could do with one. We bought a couple of goats, a football, a water filter for a school and two art sets.

To get some fudge delivered to your door, donate £2 here. You will get an email asking for your choice of flavour (chocolate, chocolate&pistachio, peanut butter), and whereabouts in Black Tom you live.

Please tell your friends! The Fudge Fairy will have time for two weekend deliveries before Christmas day, and we'd like her to be busy.

The Window Wanderland!!!!!

Yesterday was the Window Wanderland, and it was Fab with a capital letter! There were loads of wonderful displays, and it was lovely walking around the streets. Anyway,we raised £110 and the fudge was very popular! I had my friend round, and with my sisters helping (although Charlotte made a rare appearance and Rachael was at her friend's house) we made a good team.By the way, I made peanut butter fudge and it sold really well. The fudge we sold were chocolate, pistachio, vanilla and of course peanut butter!

The display
I was surprised we managed to fit it all in but we did . There were two trays of fudge and we sold them all! Towards the end, we got out some biscuits, but they were not as popular .

Our ingredients !!!!
By the way, the display that Mummy put up was amazing! She did it in coloured tissue paper and black card. There were some other good ones and if you want to see what they looked like, go on Facebook, for my Mum did and she showed me some really good pictures. My favourite one was a Star Wars display. My dad introduced me to the films and I cannot wait for the new one to come out!!!

Right, finally I would like to say a big thank you to all the people that organised the event, it was wonderful and I would love it if there was another similar event soon.

Bye for now , Sophie.

Fudge, orders and other stuff

This week Mummy and I have been making some fudge, but I cannot say we have been successful. The first batch was grainy, the second batch was a bit better, but I was very disappointed when the third batch didn't work out. My little sister did make pistachio fudge which everyone said was 'very nice', but personally I think it tasted like a lump of dark chocolate with nuts in.

Also, I got a parcel in the post from Save The Children a couple of days ago, and it turned out to be a pack of fundraising stuff!!!! There were posters, collecting tins, sashes for me to wear, and lots and lots of STICKERS!!!!!!! This was an exciting parcel to get, and Mummy had to stop my sisters from getting covered all over in them.

Believe it or not ,this is not washing up liquid, this is cooking fudge!!!!!
Finally, back to the subject of biscuits. Now, I don't know about your family, but we always leave a little something for Santa. I was thinking about setting up an online booking thing where you can order personalised biscuits and have them delivered on Christmas Eve. For example, there would maybe be six biscuits in a pack, with two for Santa, and the others with names chosen by you. (This is only for Black Tom Streets, but we are thinking about posting for an extra price.)

Also , we are thinking about peanut butter fudge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)        {:)

Bye for now, Sophie:){:)

And the charity is...

I spent Saturday afternoon doing a bit of research on charities to give our £10 Challenge money to.

We have decided to donate to Save the Children because it is a charity that does lots of different things to help children.

By the way, have you seen this advert yet? We think it is epic! We all love the books - especially our littlest sister, Charlotte.

We are definitely going to make personalised biscuits to order - with a name on one for each person in your family, or whatever you like. We are looking for a small (and friendly!) shop in Bedford where people who order our biscuits could go and collect them. Does anyone reading have any ideas about who we could ask?

We love sweets, and we want to try making some. But, we cannot decide on what sweets to make that would be popular. We were thinking about fudge or peppermint creams. Which do you like the best?

Please leave a comment. We love reading them!

The Great Beginning........

I think Mummy must have got a bit (a lot) sick  of me and my sisters arguing, for she has started talking about a £10 challenge.

Each of us (except Charlotte, my littlest sister, who is only two) are going to be given a tenner and we have to try to make it into more. The base of it is going to be a "Window Wanderland", happening in Black Tom streets, where we live in Bedford.

We are going to make little things for Christmas like biscuits, sweets, gift tags, and little Christmas trees. The money that we make is going to go to a charity that we will choose. We are going to plan this in our own little club, `The Famouse Three'.

Crumbs, Princess Polly and Summer
The Famouse Three is a club made up of me and my sisters - we do drawing, eat sweets, discuss ideas, and, argue. It is called The Famouse Three because we bring our mice (pictured above).

These are the kind of biscuits we are going to sell
We are thinking about making little family packets of biscuits - what do you think? So, it could be a named biscuit for each person in the family (and maybe a couple of extras for Santa on Christmas Eve..?). We thought if people like the idea they could order a packet from us, and we would make them in time for Christmas Eve.

It would be very handy if you commented to tell us what you think, and. maybe what price you think we should do. If you have any other suggestions, please say.

I'll be back with more news about the charity once we have chosen it. Goodbye!

It is bath time now and I do not want Mummy to start nagging me.
